On Saturday, August 10, 2019, Douglas Heckaman, of Indialantic, Florida, went home to be with the Lord at the age of 82. His wife of 58 years and his three children were at his side.

What a sweet, kind, gentle man! Always a smile on his face and he persevered to the end with grace and dignity. A true servant of God, always willing to do what it took to help reach others and support his dear wife in all her endeavors too. A model dad, and I am sure a mentor to all their children’s friends too! He will be greatly missed but we have the comfort of knowing he is now with his Savior, Jesus Christ and we will see him again. Prayers for your comfort now at this time and that you are filled with many great memories. Love to you all. .

Whenever I think of Doug, I see his smiling face. The Lord gifted him with such a cheerful countenance and an inner sweetness that is given to few on this Earth. I only knew him for a few years and adored him every second of it. May the Lord comfort his family, his dear wife, and all those who knew and loved him.

Doug was one of our best friends.. We shared an interest in natural health and were constantly sharing ideas and helps. Doug loved our family always helping where he could especially when my parents Jim and Jean Staub we’re alive. He also took the time to mentor our grandson Kaleb as he was always interested in scientific things and careers as an engineer... he helped him build his high school science project a nuclear fusion reactor! I believe they got an A! We will miss him greatly but we’re looking forward to seeing him again!!

I remember way back when Tad was small. Mr. Heckaman brought him an oscilloscope to play with.
His creativity and curiosity has been passed down through the generations.
What a great fellow.

Doug was a big influence on my early career. I worked with him for many years and we have multiple patents together. He made significant contributions to the success of the projects he worked on.
