David Edward Wall, who lived an extraordinary life, passed away at the age of 53 at his home in Melbourne, Florida. He was born June 23, 1970 at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City. Known to his family and friends as Eddie, he was a father, grandfather, son, brother, partner and friend. His adventurous spirit and zest for life will forever be remembered by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Growing up, Eddie was fearless. His heroes included Evel Knievel and Steve Austin (the Six Million Dollar Man). He rode his Big Wheel at warp speed, and there wasn’t a dare he would refuse. His risk-taking adventures resulted in many broken bones, stitches, and worry for his parents. Even as a child, he worked as hard as he played. He had a paper route as soon as he was allowed and insisted on buying his own clothes. He earned his Eagle Scout at 12 years old, being one of the youngest ever in Utah. He and his mom worked together on many projects to bring his grand ideas to fruition. From childhood on, he had a selfless spirit and would do anything he was capable of for anyone.
As a father, Ed worked tirelessly to provide for his family. His job at Southwest Airlines took him and his family to Arizona, where he lived for almost 20 years. Eddie was a fantastic example of what it meant to be a fun-loving dad. He was so very proud of his children, Brandon and Hadley. He created lasting memories, filled with laughter and adventure, with them. Whether it was teaching them to ski or to snorkel, or taking them on a spur-of-the-moment trip to Knott’s Berry Farm, Eddie's love for his children was evident in the experiences they shared.
After his retirement from Southwest Airlines, he started a new chapter of his life in Florida, where he met his partner, Ann. He was welcomed into her family with open arms, and he continuously shared how valuable those relationships were to him. He cherished Ann and her four daughters. Eddie loved spending time fishing, camping, and boating with his family and friends in Florida. He worked as a project manager at Roman Plumbing of Central Florida. Being a huge fan of the Space Center, he made it a priority to watch the rocket launches there.
Eddie had a deep love for the great outdoors. His passion for skiing, fishing, and boating was infectious. From a very early age, he was on the ski slopes, taking on the most challenging terrain and highest jumps. Ed was a talented fisherman who explored oceans and rivers in Alaska, Florida, Utah, and many other places. He loved scuba diving in the Cayman Islands with his dad. He would often spend his free time on his boat, fishing the waters of central and south Florida.
He loved to share stories of his adventures with his family and friends. Eddie’s adventurous spirit extended beyond his love of sporting. He was a licensed pilot and loved traveling. He was always seeking new challenges, taking on everything he did with full force. He fearlessly pursued his passions, inspiring those around him to step out of their comfort zones and embrace the unknown.
Eddie is survived by his mother Jaclyn Wall; father David (Ann) Wall; children Brandon (Michelle) Wall and Hadley (Reace) Lambert; grandchildren Scout, Sailor, Micah, Elias, Brandon Oliver, and Jordan; siblings Jessica (Alex) Liesegang, Sarah (Greg) Leavitt, Warren Wall, Emily (Matthew) Torres, Nathan (Jaquelyn) Wall; partner Ann McCellan and her daughters Julie, Jordyn, and Maddison.
In honor of Eddie, his family invites you to join them in celebrating his life on Friday, November 10, 2023. Let us come together and share stories, laughter, and remember the incredible man that Eddie was.
Eddie, you will be deeply missed, and your spirit will always remain alive in our hearts. May you find eternal peace and continue your adventures in the great beyond.
