When I think of Ed I think of the word Big. Big Man, big hands, big voice, big laugh, big personality and big Heart. I think passengers and crews felt safe with him around. He was a bear of a man, a friend to all. Sorry about his passing.

My husband Steve and I both flew with Ed at National and Pan Am. He was a great pilot and very professional. My late father, Emory Steele, taught Ed how to drive a cement truck during one of the many early strikes at National Airlines and regarded him as a valued friend. May his flight west be smooth. I flew with Captain Eddie at National and Pan Am. He was always a pleasure to fly with. His pilot skills were exceptional and his demeanor with crew and passengers was friendly and professional. His robust baritone voice always put the passengers at ease. It was great to see him at a National Buccaneers reunion recently.
