Edmund Paul Dettmann, age 82, born July 26, 1939 sadly passed away May 8, 2022 in Melbourne, Florida. Your love and kindness is never forgotten You are living proof we can walk and love like Jesus You are loved so very much Goodbyes are not forever They simply mean We’ll miss you and hold you in our hearts Until the time comes that we meet again Ed, an amazing devoted and loving husband to MaryAnn, a loving Father to Richard, Deborah, Danielle, Lori-Ann, & Debbie, a loving grandfather to Richard , Elizabeth, Lauren, Adam, Jesse, Nicholas, Danae, & Edmund, a loving great grandfather to Alessandra & Lena. Ed loved all of his family and no one was a stranger. He even loved those who mistreated him and never cursed anyone, he never cursed. He served as a Marine for 8 years, obtained two master degrees, and retired as a Detective Lieutenant from NY Transit Authority. Ed’s greatest accomplishments is his love and obedience for Jesus. Ed not only had a relationship with Jesus, he experienced Jesus through baptism and the Holy Spirit. Ed’s life is a testimony of that because he walked out this life Christ like. He loved God with all his heart, all his soul, and all his mind. He loved others as himself and he carried out the great commission sharing the Gospel and praying for others. Ed shared the word of God, he gave out Bibles and books, and he gave unselfishly to all in need. Ed desired with all his heart for his family, friends, and people he came in contact with to experience Jesus and come into a relationship with Him. Jesus Christ assured us that “he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” Ed has fought the good fight, he has finished the race, he has kept the faith. His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ A Visitation will be held Friday, May 13, 2022 from 10:00am to 11:00am at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida with a funeral service to follow.
