Edna T. Schultz
May 19, 1933 – July 26, 2020
Edna Thompson Schultz was born on May 19, 1933 in Stuarts Draft, Virginia and passed away peacefully on July 26, 2020 in Palm Bay, Florida. She is survived by her son, Michael, daughter-in-law, Susan, grandchildren, Jackson and Morgan, as well as by two sisters, Sarah Taylor and Dorothy Koogler, and a brother, Wallace Thompson. In 1952, she graduated from Washington & Lee High School in Arlington, VA where she was a classmate of actress Shirley MacLaine. After high school, Edna enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served three years before being honorably discharged. In 1963, she married the love of her life, Paul Schultz and remained happily married to him until his death in 1995. She worked for nearly 20 years for Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company (later becoming AT&T) and another 20 years for General Electric and McQuay International. Upon retirement in 1998, she moved to Melbourne, FL. Edna’s greatest quality was her unfailing optimism. It was a trait she held until her last day. She will be sorely missed by her friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to the American Cancer Society be made in her memory.

Hi Mike and family. Very sorry to learn of Edna's passing. She was a wonderful friend. Mom (Judy Deavers) and I had been planning to travel to Florida to visit your mom. Unfortunately the Covid 19 hindered our trip. We soo wanted to visit. Your mom was a very loyal and dedicated friend to my mom long after they stopped working together at GE in Waynesboro. Edna would call and talk and always remembered our birthdays. She sent mom movies to watch and she was so wonderful with making sure to keep that special connection. What a gem she was. Thank you for calling mom to inform her. We will miss Edna dearly and pray for your comfort and peace during this difficult time. Please let us know if you come to the valley. Sincerely, Liz Heavner
