Edward served his country as a Marine during the Vietnam Era. Ed was a longtime employee of Christa McAuliffe Elementary School were he made many lifelong friends. Ed's encouraging spirit and quiet, gentle nature will be truly missed by all.
He leaves behind his family that he treasured, the love of his life for 32 years, Karen; daughter, Jennifer Gilbert; son, Christopher Chapman; and three grandchildren, Cole, Sophia and Portia. He had three surviving siblings, Gene and Tommy Chapman and a sister, Gloria Doane. Edward had many nephews and nieces, and a large extended family that loved him dearly as anyone who knew him did.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church on Wednesday, April 20, at 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the William Childs Hospice House.
