Edward was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 11, 1925. He was an avid horseman from an early age, and eventually taught riding to a wide range of people. When the United States entered World War II, he joined the navy and proudly served his country as part of the navy air corps. He was stationed in the South Pacific, and served for three years, four months, and twelve days. After the war, he returned to school on the GI bill, earning a B.S. in biochemistry from Long Island University. He continued his education at Columbia Chiropractic College, becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1957. He practiced from 1957 – 1999 in New York, Kentucky, Indiana, and finally Florida. He truly loved his profession and always put his patients’ needs before his own comfort.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Anne; children, Tamara Rand (Michael), Myrna Cobb (David), and Jeffrey Goldstein (Tracey); grandchildren, Edward Rand (Patricia), Daniel Rand, and Shelli Goldstein; great-grandson, Malcolm Rand; niece, Michele Peters.
His legacy lives on in the strong work ethic and moral compass, love of nature, and compassion for all people and animals he instilled in his children.
His kindness and concern touched so many lives in so many ways. The world is richer for his presence and poorer for his loss. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 3:00pm in the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL.
