Born in Washington, D.C 9-27-28, Eldon "Thumper" Volkmer was a retired Engineer from NASA. His nickname "Thumper" was given to him as he and his wife Iva Lea traveled all over the USA with the Winnebago Club. He and Iva loved hosting events and playing cards with friends they had in all 50 states and beyond!
He is predeceased by his parents Albert & Lottie, Brother Will & his wife Willie, wife Iva Lea, daughter Linn Cole; stepson Todd Wesley; stepdaughter Tammie Aquilino (Mike).
Thumper is survived by his son, Jim Volkmer of Florida; step son Terry Wesley (Leslie) of MD, step daughter Toni Lynn Maupin (Chris) of Fla., step son in law, Mike Aquilino (Amy) of MD, Grandchildren: Brittany, Jennifer (Brenden), Kyle, Kelly (Mike), Spencer, Michael, Brandon, Nick and great grandchildren, Brady, Cooper, Kinslea, Charlotte & Westin.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 in Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge. There will be a reception to follow at Pineda Inn at 6533 US-1, Rockledge, FL 32955
