Ellen Flugel passed away, peacefully, on October 17, 2025, after a brave battle with cancer. Ellen was born on September 26, 1951. She attended Fairport High School and later received her degree in Accounting from Rochester Institute of Technology. She worked for Xerox Corporation for many years before moving with her husband, Brian, and her young son, Brian, to Merritt Island, Fl., to join her parents in growing their restaurant business, Frankie’s Wings and Things. She continued in her role for the rest of her life.
Ellen is survived by her son, Brian Matthew, daughter in-law , Stephanie Flugel, her grandchildren, Owen, Parker, Elliot, Ivy and Lily. She will also be missed by her siblings, Susan Rys (Ian) , Mary Calabrese Hall, and Peter Calabrese ( Sue), along with many nieces and nephews she was preceded in death by her husband, Brian Flugel, her parents, Frank and Maryellen Calabrese,and her brother, Joseph Calabrese.
At Ellen’s request, there will be no service. She will be interred next to her husband, Brian, in Rockledge, FL at Florida Memorial Gardens.
