Elvin Markwood Keller, resident of Rockledge, FL, formerly of Spring Hill, FL, passed away on March 22, 2018 at Angel Guardian Assisted Living Facility at the age of 98 years. Born 9/12/1919 on a farm just outside Myersville, MD, Elvin was the firstborn son of Charles M. Keller and Mary Alice (Palmer) Keller.
Elvin was a graduate of Middletown HS. His interests gravitated to aviation, and after serving in the US Army
during WWII, he went to work for Fairchild Aircraft, and later at Frick Company, as an electrical assembler in Hagerstown, MD. There he met Mildred (“Mickey”) V. (Dunahugh) Baker. The two married on June 18, 1953. They became parents of one son, Kim E. Keller, of Rockledge, FL. Elvin enjoyed anything related to aviation, earning a private pilot’s certificate. He was also an avid baseball fan, cheering on the Baltimore Orioles and the Tampa Bay Rays. Elvin and Mickey retired to Spring Hill, FL, in 1984, with Elvin later moving to Rockledge after Mickey’s passing. He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses organization.
Elvin was preceded in death by wife Mickey, brother Charles Keller, sister Mary Alice Keller, and stepson Donald Baker.
He will be sadly missed by son Kim, step-son Randy Baker of Hagerstown, MD; brothers Claude, Robert, John and David Keller; sisters Helen Walker, Polly Rutt, Betty Fisher, Dotty Dantoni, and Joyce Pepple; grandchildren Natalie Keller Reinert, and Elena Bryant; great-grandchildren Calvin Reinert; and Audrey, Avery and Ethan Bryant.
At Elvin’s request there will be no service, and Elvin’s ashes will be interred at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD, alongside his beloved wife.
