

Erika Lynn Magin, age 22, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 28, 2024. She leaves behind her devoted parents, Dan and Lisa Magin, her loving sisters Shara Walter and Alyssa Magin, her brother John Costello and his wife Kaitlyn, and her grandfathers, Charles Magin and Fern Beaudoin. She is also survived by her cherished cousin Joseph DeFelice; her uncle Butch and Aunt Anita DeFelice; uncle Bruce DeFelice; her niece Kaylee Henderson; and her nephews Bryan and Andrew Brend. Erika was surrounded by the love of a large family including many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved grandmothers, Mary Anne Magin and Lois Beaudoin, whose memories she cherished.
Erika’s educational journey began at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, where she attended from preschool through sixth grade. She then moved to Covenant Christian School for seventh and eighth grades and graduated from Heritage High School in 2020. Her passion and talent for volleyball earned her a scholarship to Keiser University in West Palm Beach, where she recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance in 2024.
Erika excelled in both academics and athletics, earning accolades such as the President’s List, Dean’s List, and Honor Roll. She was an instrumental player for the Keiser Seahawks, helping her team secure the SUN Conference Volleyball Championship in 2020. Erika’s skill and dedication to her sport were evident in her remarkable achievements, including setting school records with 190 aces and 2,176 digs between 2020 and 2023.
Beyond her academic and athletic accomplishments, Erika also shone in the modeling world, where her exceptional beauty was matched only by her extraordinary kindness and humility. She had a natural grace that radiated both on and off the camera, but it was her warm, humble spirit that left the deepest impression on everyone she met. Erika had a special gift for making others feel valued and beautiful, often offering heartfelt compliments that lifted those around her, making everyone in her presence feel special and seen.
Erika will be remembered for the joy, strength, and compassion she brought to everyone she encountered. Her teammates and friends knew her as a fierce competitor with an unbreakable spirit, while her family remembers her as a devoted daughter, sister, and friend who could light up any room. She touched countless lives and inspired those around her to pursue their dreams with the same passion she brought to the court and the modeling stage.
A Celebration of Erika’s life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024. The viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Scott’s Center, located at 5625 Holy Trinity Drive, Melbourne, Florida 32940.
In honoring Erika’s memory, her family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to support student-athlete scholarships at Keiser University, continuing her legacy of passion, dedication, and excellence.
Erika’s light will forever shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
