My Dearest MaMa,
I will miss you so much! You were always a trooper a good listener,always up for a movie, a card game,lunch or just hanging around. We always had fun. You were a kind and caring person I was lucky to be your grand daughter. The last year was a tough one for you,losing your independendence.I know you didnt want to live like that. Mom and Dad did such a good job helping you. You are where you want to be. I will miss you so much,but I look forward to seeing you again some day!
Love You, Tammy

Mama, was my Grandmother. what a fine one. Always there to listen. She was up for a card game a movie lunch shopping or whatever we wanted to do. She was active until the last year. I admire mom and dad for taking such good care of her. THE LAST YEAR WAS A TOUGH ONE. It was time for her to go. No more suffering. Although she was graceful until the end. I will miss her so much but I will look forward to seeing her again some day. I love you always. Love, TAMMY

Mama was one of the most beautiful, caring, and positive people I've ever known! She never had a negative word to say about anyone or anything which is a great lesson for all of us. She was such an awesome, classy, loving, role model for everyone. I feel very blessed to have had her in my life and I know heaven now has one of the most beautiful angels ever. She will be missed but not forgotten.
Forever love,
Lori (Granddaughter), Hank, Meagan, (Will), Cody (Great-Grandchildren), Wyatt, Cayden, and Annli (Great Great Grandchildren)

Dear Ray, Joy & Family - So sorry to hear about your Mom. I never met her but after reading all these beautiful comments she must have been really special. Sure do miss seeing you all. Been too many years. Lots of memories that we treasure. I guess you know we moved to NC in 2004 so will not be there for the services. But in thought & prayers we will be. May God bless you and give you peace at this sorrowful time. Love, Al & Connie Bruce

If you looked in the dictionary for gracious or lady you would see a picture of Irene Maxey. She always made you feel special when you were with her.

I will always cherish my last visit with my Aunt Renee in Florida. Even with her advanced age, she was still the wonderful and gracious hostess that the family always remarked about and loved. My Dad always remarked what a perfect lady his sister was and now they are together at last.

I can remember Irene almost as far back a I remember my own mother. I was born at Lillybrook in 1941 where Irene, Hank, Eliott Ray and Judy lived. I believe my sister Rita and I started grade school with Judy. Even when I was a little boy, I thought Irene was the prettiest woman that I would ever know. Besides being pretty whe was always every bit of a lady to be admired and appreciated. On behalf of my late father and mother, Frank and Clayetta Helvey, our family and cousin Joann Hall ( of Melbourne Florida ), our condolences to her family and friends. I'll miss visiting with her at future Stoco Communities reunions in Coal City. Best regards;
