Evelyn walked through life with an open heart, reflecting Christ's unconditional grace, kindness, and warmth to everyone she met. She approached life with a playfulness and a wonderful sense of humor, always bringing laughter to those around her. Guided by her fearless love of adventure, she even pursued her passion for the skies by learning how to fly a plane.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Fredrick (Greg); her brothers, Duane Wrightson and Anthony Wrightson; and her son, James A. Crabtree. Her vibrant spirit lives on through her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Evelyn is reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband, James D. Crabtree; her daughter, Sharon K. Scheerhorn; her sisters, Wilberta Moyer, Anna Mainiero and Ruth Rutkowski; her brother, Edward Post who all preceded her in death.
A woman of steadfast faith, Evelyn was a cherished member of the Rockledge Christian Center for over 50 years, where she quietly modeled her devotion through service and fellowship.
A celebration of her beautiful life, humor, and faith will begin with a family visitation on Friday, October 16 at 10:00 a.m. A service for family and friends will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge.
