Faye is survived by her three children: son Rob Zimmerman, daughters Jan Ford and Kay Hartzog; three grandchildren and one great grandson. She was predeceased by her husband Phil in 2012. Many loving in-laws and friends hold her in their hearts as well.
Faye’s life was a full one; she was a strong woman of pioneering stock born in Glasgow, Montana, daughter of “Jake” and Blanche Ness. She met her husband Phil when she was 17. They were married just before he was sent on an Army bombing mission in WWII. His plane was shot down and he was a Prisoner of War for over two years. Phil credited Faye with saving his life, as it was only the married men in his crew that survived. Faye did secretarial work for the war effort during that time.
Faye modeled resilience to her children as she and her family moved frequently overseas and in the US. She had a dry humor and a loving heart. In her later years she loved golf, gardening, and old movies. She and Phil hosted many a family gathering on their much-loved porch looking out on the 11th Hole of the Suntree Golf Course.
Faye spent the last 3 years of her life at Brennity, the place she called home, where she was well-loved and gently cared for. She will be greatly missed and cherished forever.
Services will be private at the family's request.
