Florence “Tootsi” Jackson, born to Polish immigrants, Benjamin and Stephanie Grodski in Riverhead, NY on January 18, 1935, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Melbourne, FL. Her youth was spent as one of twelve siblings working together on the family farm. In 1954 she married Jerry “Jack” Jackson, whom she would lovingly live alongside for the next 61 years. Her unparalleled selflessness and nurturing demeanor brought joy to her children, Debra, Kenneth, and David, grandchildren, friends, and all who knew her. Her unwavering love, humor, and sharp wit leave memories permanently etched onto our hearts. Though the crossword puzzles will have more empty boxes, and the bowling lanes fewer strikes, she gracefully moves on from us having led a full life to be proud of in which many have breathed easier because she has lived. A celebration of her life will be held at 11am on Monday, December 28, with a visitation from 10-11am at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial. Interment will be at Florida Memorial Gardens.
