Fouad Girgis Michael of Melbourne, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at the age of 73 with his family at his side following an extended illness. Born July 14th 1946 in Cairo, Egypt, Fouad was a graduate of the University of Helwan and earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering. He gave back to his country by proudly serving in the Egyptian army and fought in the 1973 war. On January 9, 1977 he married Mofida Abdemalak and they had three daughters and a son all of whom he loved dearly. In business, he started and ran a successful plastics company for many years before moving to the United States with his family.
Fouad was known for his love of God and his family and endeavored to serve God and provide for his family all his life. He had a practical and logical approach to the world with a sense of duty and honor while at the same time an ever present sense of humor. He enjoyed jokes and had an inherent ability to make people laugh even in the toughest of times. He had many good friends and was known as someone in the Egyptian community that could be called upon for help and for advice and spent many hours assisting those new to this country.
He is survived by his wife, Mofida, his three daughters, Nermine Michael, Nevine Chancellor, and Mariam Michael, and by his son Kerls Michael. He also leaves eight grandchildren, Kiara, Crystal, Chelsea, Cali, Ian, Micah, Aiden, and Yasmeen. He loved them all.
You have only just left us but we already wish we could see you just a little while again. We will miss you 'till we see you again in Heaven.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Archangel Michael Coptic Orthodox Church, 1653 Guava Ave, Melbourne, FL 32935. Due to social distancing requirements we invite you to be with us on Zoom. The meeting ID is 521243380 and the password is 0204577.
