

Born in Baltimore, MD, she lived in Portsmouth, VA, while growing up. She is a graduate of Franklin County High School, Rocky Mount, VA, and Jones University, Orlando, with an associate’s degree in court reporting.
A loving companion, a devoted daughter and a caring sister, she is survived by her longtime significant other, Marvin Lesser of Cocoa Beach; one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Jean and C.J. Player, two grandchildren Craig Player and Jennifer Campis; four great-grandchildren, all of Wallingford, CT; two sisters, Joyce Grimes of Merritt Island and Irma Duke of Angier, NC; and two brothers, Glenn Coleman of Kingsport,TN, and Richard Coleman of Sanford, NC. She is predeceased by her parents, David Butler from Baltimore, MD, and Ruby Coleman from Angier, NC, one brother, Shelton Butler from Cocoa, and her loving husband, Bill McElroy from Titusville.
She was an award-winning Mary Kay Independent Sales Director. In addition, she was co-owner of the Proud Pig Restaurant and Lounge on Merritt Island and worked for several aerospace companies in the area.
Her funeral service will be Saturday, March 26, 2016 at noon at Life Events Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL.
