

LTC Frank B. Goodman (81), retired U.S. Army, son of Mary and Frank Goodman, born in Chicago, IL on March 5, 1929, passed away on June 20, 2010, peacefully at his home. Frank was a devoted husband of June (Cameron) and loving father of Patricia (Steven) Pritchett of Marietta, GA, Frank (Sara Jane) Goodman III of Memphis, TN, and Michelle (David) Delozier of Manassas, VA. He was a loving grandfather to Bryant, Nicholas, and Samantha Pritchett and Cameron and Edward Goodman. He is also survived by his sister, Marion McGonagle of Gates Mills, Ohio. Frank went into the military at 17. He was stationed in Korea during the war. He left the Army, used the GI Bill to go to the University of IL, there he entered ROTC. He completed college in three and one half years. He was commissioned in the U.S. Army in the Quartermaster Corp. When he became a regular Army officer, he branch transferred to the Ordinance Corp. He was stationed in Virginia, Utah, Korea, Japan, Minnesota, Virginia, Puerto Rico, Maryland, and Alabama. Following his tour in the Army, Frank went to work for Brown Engineering in Huntsville, AL, and then went to work as a Contract Administrator for IBM in Huntsville. His last school attended was Harvard. When he retired he was the Chief of Business Practices for IBM in Manassas, VA. Frank retired to Indian River Colony Club in Melbourne, FL in 1998. Frank loved to play bridge, and with his wife won many tournaments. Frank had a tremendous sense of humor. Frank enjoyed cruising; for his fiftieth wedding anniversary in 2001, he took his wife, their children and grandchildren on a cruise. He also loved to play tennis. He made many good friends at IRCC, and he stated many times how much he enjoyed his retirement. He will be missed. There will be a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 25 in the chapel at Florida Memorial Funeral Home.
