FRANK S HOWARD

July 18, 1938May 10, 2011

Frank Saxon Howard, 72, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at his home. He was born in Augusta, GA and came to Brevard County in 1964 from Charleston, SC.

Frank worked for NASA as an Aerospace Scientist for 38 years and held five patents within the aerospace industry. He received The Exceptional Service Award, which is the Federal Government's highest civilian award, as well as the KSC Employee of the Year Award. He was a member of Journey Church and the Board of Professional Engineers.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda; three children, Mark T. Howard, Leah H. (Gerald) Showalter, and Rev. Carol H. (Rev. Brian) Merritt; four grandchildren, Sebastian, Chad, Calla, and Jacqueline; two sisters, Cheryl Craig and Merle Gregory; and one step-brother, Jim Saxon.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 6-8 pm at Florida Memorial Funeral Home, with a memorial service taking place on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 2:00 at the First United Methodist Church of Melbourne.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Special Gathering, P.O. Box 6002, Vero Beach, FL 32961.

Florida Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Dear Linda and family, we know that Frank no longer has difficulty walking and that we will see him again; but for now he is among the great cloud of witnesses cheering us on to victory in Christ with all the other saints that have gone on before us. We are currently out of town and wish we could have been with you at the service.
