Galen was born and raised in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was a member of the Air Force from 1960-1981. As a kid, he worked for local farmers and drove a truck for his dad. He married Donna Giles on June 24, 1961.
His hobbies were playing golf, bowling, and traveling in the RV. While retired he traveled as much as possible and if he was not traveling he was golfing or planning their next trip. He was a member of Pineda Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife Donna Pound; 3 daughters Renay Crouse, Colene Hewitt, and Tammy Bond; 6 grandchildren Amanda Rinehart, Matthew Rinehart, Sabrina Hewitt, Katlin Bond, Randy Bond, and Rachel Bond.; 2 great granddaughters Paige and Annabelle.; 2 brothers and their families, Donald of Idaho and Ronald of North Carolina; one sister and her family Mary Lou Ottman of Idaho.
He was preceded in death by parents, Doc and Dola Pound, two brothers, Estel and Gary.
He was a wonderful husband, brother, and an awesome father, and we will miss him dearly.
