

He was preceded in death by his father, George O. Jackson, his mother, Louise H. Jackson, his brother, Robert D. Jackson, and his daughter, Melissa D. Jackson.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon Jackson, of Melbourne, FL; his son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Krissy Jackson (grandchildren Easton and Finley Jackson) of Palm City, FL; his daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Chad Reddick, of Satellite Beach, FL; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marc and Debbie Reed, of Mill Creek, OK.
George graduated from Boca Ciega High School in Gulfport, FL, in 1962. Then, as he was a giant fan of the Florida Gators, he moved to Gainesville, FL, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering degree in 1968 and a Master of Industrial Engineering degree in 1971 both from the University of Florida. He enjoyed his time as a member of Alpha Pi Mu Industrial Engineering Honor Society and the Delta Upsilon fraternity. He served in the United States Army Reserve for 5 years and retired from L3 Harris corporation in April 2023 after 43 years as a manufacturing engineer with the company.
A private service will be held July 18, 2026 at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to Suntree United Methodist Church where he was a member for decades.
