Gloria Monedero Vallette, born on February 13, 1937 in Santiago Chile, passed away peacefully at William Child’s Hospice House in Palm Bay Florida on November 13, 2025 ,at the age of 88 years old. She was the beloved daughter of Gabriel and Helia Monedero of Chile.
Gloria was affectionately known as “Nana“ ,a nickname given to her by her first grandson, Dan Vallette. She was fiercely and extremely loved by her entire family. She endeared the hearts of many family and friends alike. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of family and friends in the U.S., Chile, Mexico and Spain.
Her life was filled with love for her family and friends. She was a world traveler and a voracious reader her entire life. In later years, reading almost became a companion. She relished her trips to the Satellite Beach Public Library to bring home a dozen books at a time. She enjoyed gardening, and especially loved visiting botanical gardens. She delighted in all kinds of flowers with roses and orchids being at the top of her list. She fully enjoyed God’s creation from the trees with their changing leaves, the beach, sunsets, majestic mountains and especially the light of the moon on the water known in Spanish as the “Caminito de Luna”. She loved listening to music and would have the easy listening instrumental music playing on the tv. She also liked to knit having been taught by her grandmother Encarnación in Chile as a child and leaves behind baby blankets for future great grandchildren. As a young woman she was also a very avid seamstress ,knowing her way around a sewing machine creating clothing to curtains.
Her early work life had her working at Shell Corporation in Santiago ,Chile where she met her beloved future husband, Julio Daniel Vallette Sr. Her responsibilities there included accounting and being a keypunch operator , one of only two women in Santiago at the time trained to punch in data into a machine that punched out small rectangular holes onto special paper cards that were then read by the computers.
We ask when you think of her as not “ being gone” but instead rejoicing and celebrating the amazing reunion with the love of her life ,Julio (her Cuchi ) that preceded her in death 8 years ago .
Gloria(Nana)is survived and lovingly remembered by her only sister Helia Roig(Juan) of Tucson, Arizona , her son Julio Daniel Vallette Jr,(Susan) of Indialantic, Florida, her daughter Veronica Vallette Stacy (Steven)of Collierville, Tennessee, her niece Cecilia Ruiz(Paul) and family of Mexico, her grandchildren Dan Vallette (Alexis) , Al Vallette , Andrea Stacy Lehman(Brendan) and Monica Stacy Kelsey(Stonewall), her great grandchildren Sloane and Will Vallette, her extended family in Chile ,brother in laws, Pablo Vallette(Celia),Esteban Vallette(Anita) ,sister in law Lucy Sandoval(Luis),nieces and nephews Pablo Vallette(Joanna),Guillermo Villasante (Marcela), Paola Vallette, Anita Paola Vallette and all their families, cousins Maria Angelica Carvallo(Patricio), life long friends Gloria Hartard and Monica Roe and all their families and countless of other cousins and friends from the U.S., Chile and Spain. .
