Harmony was truly one of the most loving and caring spirits you could ever meet. She had a way of seeing people, really seeing them, and pouring into their lives with kindness, empathy, and grace. She served with a heart that reflected Jesus so clearly, always thinking of others, always willing to help, always full of warmth and compassion.
She loved everyone so deeply. That love was evident in every conversation, every prayer, every quiet act of care she offered.
Harmony was born and raised in Milwaukie, Oregon. After high school, Harmony married her high school sweetheart, Ian Charters. Shortly after getting married, Ian enlisted in the Air Force, Harmony became an Air Force wife and for 30 years, travelled the world. In those years, Harmony raised four children and moved ten times. Following Air Force retirement, Harmony was able to move where she wanted to go, finding a home in Viera, Florida close to the beach and warm weather she most enjoyed.
Harmony was an amazing mother to her children. She was a loving and incredibly supportive wife to her husband. A busy mom of four yet always found time to serve in whatever area was needed in every church community she found herself in across ten Air Force assignments (Nevada, Alaska, Japan, Alaska, Arkansas, Virginia, Texas, Alabama, and finally, Florida). Harmony’s love for Jesus was always on display in the beautiful smile on her face and the warm touch of her hands. Harmony’s profound impact reverberates throughout the globe between her lifelong friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
No matter what Harmony was doing, she loved it, as long as she was with the people she loved. She made everything fun!
Harmony is survived by her husband of 35 years, Ian Charters, her children Luke, Sawyer, and Hope, five grandchildren, Oliva, Liam, Klaire, Henley, and Peter, parents Ron and Heidi Perry, and sister Nelly Uhler. She is preceded in death by her son Patrick, and her grandparents, Ernest and Mary Ellen Schraner.
