

Harry Donovan Hunt was born on July 13, 1945, in Ruston, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, to Dr. Ralph Smith Hunt, Jr. and Virginia Elizabeth Donovan Hunt. He passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, at VITAS Hospice House in Rockledge, Florida.
Harry grew up in Columbiana, Alabama, where he graduated from Shelby County High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a devoted Mason with Bucks Creek Lodge in Alabaster, Alabama.
While working at Melbourne Hospital, Harry met the love of his life, Susan Alice Lee. They were married in Alabama before Harry attended Respiratory Therapy School at Carraway Methodist Hospital, and Susan pursued nursing school. After graduating, shared 57 wonderful years together, often working side by side as Harry was a respiratory therapist and Susan was a registered nurse.
In September 1990, Harry and Susan moved back to Indian Harbour Beach, Florida, to be closer to family. There, Harry worked at an auto body shop before later owning and operating an antique business, sharing his love for history and craftsmanship. He retired in 2008.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ralph Smith Hunt III, and his sister, Virginia Elizabeth Hunt Mays.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years, Susan Alice Lee Hunt; his daughter, Elizabeth Marie Hunt Blair and her husband, Jeffery Scott Blair; his son, James Donovan Hunt and his wife, Kristina Osmundson; and his cherished grandchildren: Kris Corson, Gabriel Donovan Hunt Ball, Alex Corson, Thomas Benjamin Hunt, Jazmin Nicole Hunt, Justin James Blair, Christian Michael Blair, and Mason Edward Blair. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Harry loved Alabama Crimson Tide football and enjoyed attending games whenever he could. He also had a deep love for music and treasured the concerts he attended with his family. His beloved cats brought him great joy and companionship over the years.
Harry will be remembered for his devotion to his family and the many lives he touched with his kindness and quiet strength. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace and free from pain.
The visitation with the family will be at 10 a.m., with the service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, Florida. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
