Howard Lennon Phillips

Howard “Len” Phillips September 3, 1956 – March 4, 2016 it is with sadness that we announce the passing of a kind and loving soul. He will always be remembered by his high school sweet heart, wife, Julie Phillips of 41 years. Brother Preston Phillips (Yvonne), Son Howard Lennon Phillips III (Marcy), Daughter Geri Geweniger (Kirk), and two grandchildren Ayden and Eli, who he was so proud of.

Len was born in Bethesda Maryland, Son of the late Howard Lennon Phillips and Mary Long-Phillips.

Len attended the University of South Florida and graduated in 1984 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Len was known for his hard work and devotion to several different space programs. He was first hired by General Dynamics in 1984 where he worked as a Design Engineer. Len continued his success with several accomplishments to be proud of in his career to include Project Engineer at Launch Complex 40 program, Program Manager at Launch Complex 41, Launch Complex SLC 3 in California, and finished his career as the Director of Launch Integration and Services with Orbital ATK.

Len most valued quality time with family and friends and enjoyed hobbies such as piddling in the yard, lying about his golf game, and traveling. He adored spending time with his grandchildren Ayden and Eli.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 2pm at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 US HWY 1, Rockledge, FL. 32955 with interment to follow in Florida Memorial Gardens.
