Jack Sidoran

September 12, 1946March 22, 2013

Dr. William "Jack" Sidoran passed away at his home from ALS on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the age of 66.

Jack is survived by his wife Laura who adored him, loved by his children, William (III), Cyndi, Tina, Tony, Ty, and Tifton, and will be missed by his grandchildren that he loved to mentor.

Jack was a larger than life man who touched many lives, from his combat heroism as a U.S. Marine in Vietnam, to his esteemed careers as a Chief of Police and Public Safety Director in SC and GA, Public Safety Director with Brevard Public Schools, DCF Circuit Administrator, Ombudsman State Council Rep., FDLE Missing Children Advisory Board Member, SCCU Board Member, Brevard County Historical Commissioner, and University Instructor. But it was his day to day interactions that Jack will be most remembered for…no one who ever met him…could ever forget him.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 2:30-4:30 Faith Viera Lutheran Church, 5550 Faith Drive, Rockledge, FL, with a memorial service at the same time.

The family will receive friends from 5 till 7 pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort, SC.

I met Jack while serving in the Marine Corps with his son Spike, Spike and myself came to Jack and Laura's House in Melbourne, Fl in 2002 while on the way to Daytona. Our visit there at Jack's was wonderful and his personality was astounding. It was always a pleasure to have the opportunity to see him. My heart goes out to the family and friends of the Sidorans. You all are in my prayers, I pray the Lord gives you peace and comfort always.

I met Jack when working for Brevard County School District. He was always friendly and respectful and always took the time to have a chat. Everyone knew Jack because he took the time to get to know them. He will be missed.

Jack made the energizer bunny look slow...what a guy! He truly made an impact on everyone he met and most importantly touched those around him with his laughter. "May the heavenly sun shine upon your face and the winds of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars." Rest in peace Jack!

Had the terrific opportunity to work with Dr. Jack at multiple sites around the country during an offered training program. Also, had many great laughs together. I considered him a friend. Roy Crouch (Lexington, KY)
