Yes jimmy it’s 2020......I have wanted to share this with whoever,,,,,I read all the tributes to you,,,,I only wish I was as good as you jimmy....you were my favorite cousin....I have known how  generous and kind you were since we were little kids....remember when the summer I stayed with you  and was cranking the  airplane engine in the garage,,,,non stop!   You had so much patience,,jimmy....remember the time you came down to ft pierce and totaled my go cart?  We never told anyone,,,I’m glad I made you wear the helmet,,,,,,,,,remember the time I went with you on the camping trip with the blue royals,,,,and you saved my life,,,,,,I would have drowned that day if you didn’t come save me!,  I recently told that story to you mom....you never had said anything about it,,,,,I wish I was more like you jimmy,,,,I have cried so  much since aunt pat told me what happened.....damn jimmy you are great!,z!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I make it to heaven I know you are there.

Miss you Jimmy! You will be remembered at the EGHS Reunion as the best car mechanic in town.  My heart goes out to both families at this time.
You are in our thoughts and prayers. God will alway use tragedy for his good.

Lifting up Jim and Leslie's family in prayer during the holidays.

I have know Jim since the mid 90's. He was a rare honest mechanic. My wife and I were away on vacation for several months, I just learned of his death today. I had recommended him to our pastor, only to find out his business phone had been disconnected. This really sadden us both.

Jim was my mechanic for the most part the last 4 years. Very humble, gracious man. I am stunned and deeply saddened. Always so helpful and kind. My love and condolences to his family.

Jim renewed my faith in believing there was still good, caring people left on this earth. I have never met another like him. He cared more about people than profit, he was truly a GOOD MAN. I will miss him deeply for ever. He was always there to help my girls while I was away and I always cherished his kindness as my girls did. there will never be another like him. he was always so gratetfull when he knew I was looking out for his younger brother while we were in the same fire department. God knows his goodness and will surely welcome into a far better place. Rest peacfully Jim, see you on the other side.

Seth, My heart goes out to you and you are in my prayer. I knew your father at the best mechanic and also talked with him when I would take our cars in. He spoke very highly of his family so know that you were truly loved by him. He was a very caring person and helped so many of us out in our times of need. Jim was an excellent mechanic. He always fixed the car properly. Jim always took the time to talk to me. He will be dearly missed by me and my sister. Arleen and Mary. We will never forget him.

When my wife and I recently moved to FL. Jim came to my rescue after being recommended by another mechanic that could not do the job.  Jim was very sensitive to my recent move and not knowing anyone in the area. He also knew I needed my car desperately for my new job.  It was fixed the same day.  That just goes to show what a caring individual he was.  Although he did 't know me, he went out of his way just to help me.  He had since been my mechanic and I would recommend him to others any chance I could.  Rest in Peace Jim.  You will, be missed.  You touched the lives of many I'm sure.  You touched me with your kindness when I needed help.

Good Bye Old Friend.  James and I were friends in High School and I lost track of him after I moved away.  I was very sad to hear of his passing.  I send my thoughts and prayers to his family and friends back home.  GOD BLESS JIM and his WIFE.

The moment you met Jim you became his friend.  He would beam with pride and love as he talked of Leslie, Seth and Allison.  I will miss our conversations, his warm smile, generosity, gentle spirit and that piece of Dove chocolate at the end of each meeting.  Our prayers for all the family and friends that you find comfort knowing they are at peace in the loving arms of our Savior.

Dearest Family and Loved Ones of the Dempseys,

You are in my thoughts and prayers today as you lay to rest your beloved Jim and Leslie.  God bless you and comfort you as cope with this devastating loss.  I knew Jim primarily through his friendship w/my sister & brother-in-law, and also as my mechanic.  I referred so many people to his shop and bragged about him to everyone, as I'm sure we all did – how could we not?  For Jim was truly one of a kind; he was one of the most inspiring men I've ever met.  I'm certain that everyone who knew him must have felt the same.  He clearly had the heart of servant:  thoughtful, caring, gracious, humble, and as his obituary so perfectly stated “exceedingly selfless and generous.”  It was such a blessing and an honor to have known him.  

Regrettably, I never had the good fortune to have met Leslie; nonetheless, I also grieve for the loss of this wonderful woman who was the light and love of Jim's life. 

While I share in the family's sorrow, I also rejoice in the knowledge that these two precious souls are at peace and rest in the presence of their loving Heavenly Father, now eternally free from burdens, sorrow, sickness, and pain.  And I am so thankful and grateful for the time they shared with us, and the inspiring legacy they left.  I'm sure that we can all say we are better persons for having known Jim and Leslie.

We have had the honor to know both Jim and Leslie. They were good, decent,caring people. They were hard working and honest.  They took great pride in doing their work very well and cared about the people for whom they were responsible. They took great pride in their son, Seth. My deepest sympathy goes out to the families of Jim and Leslie.  I first met Jimmy when his sister Cindy started dating my son Rob.  That's been some 36 years ago.  What a fine, wonderful family the Dempsey's are.  It has been my pleasure to be "part" of this family all these years.
   Seth, I first met you and your mom when you were about 3, thought you were adorable and always enjoyed being with you. I always thought your mom was such a very fine lady. Surely, my deepest sympathy goes out to you and Allison, as well as to Mike and Tracy, Tim and Danielle and Cindy & Rob.

Seith, We are so sorry for your loss.  We both knew your mother through SW Middle school and your dad through the shop.  They were both very special people and will be sorely missed.  there will be a void left in our hearts due to the passing of Jim and Lesile.

My heart is truly sad about the loss of Jim and Leslie. My husband met Jim years ago when he was remodeling for Carl Scmitt Nisson, I met Jim and Leslie years later through my job at Circle-K, Jim and Leslie lived around the corner from us for years. Jim became our mechanic years ago, and he was truly one of the best souls, truly caring about helping out with our cars and always so honest, I too will miss Jim, for his expertice and all the help and caring. He always spoke about his son Seth and daughter Allison, and his granddogs. He was truly a proud family man.Jim always took the time to chat about his family and visit  on his way to work or on his way home. Our hearts and prayers go out to both Jim and Leslie's family. May they both be at peace.

My thouhts and prayers are with Seth, Allison and family.  I have known Jim for years but never had the pleasure of meeting Lesile.  Jim was a very caring man and was so proud of Seth. They will be missed greatly.  May they rest in peace.

My friendship with Jim goes back 25 years after he graduated from EGHS where I taught. He was not just a mechanic but a friend, who would always have time to chat after the work on my car was done. He was so proud of his family and had no qualms sharing all the good news. His devotion to Leslie was the true defintion of love. Rarely, do people like Jim come into our lives and make a difference how one looks at life. I will miss your smile and the pep talks you gave me in the trying times I had.

My prayers are with the family for the loss of Jim and Leslie.  I only met him once, but he was caring and honest.  May God Bless him and his loving wife Leslie as well as their family.

I am so saddened to hear about the loss of Jim and Leslie.  I did not have the pleasure of knowing Leslie, but I did know Jim.  Whenever I brought my car up to Jim's, he would always take the time to ask how my daughter and I were doing. He would hand me a piece of Dove candy, and then smile, as if to say, sit for a minute and take a break. He was such a good person who genuinely cared, and will be missed dearly.  I will miss hearing those deep words "Dempsey Automotive" whenever I needed to call.  He always talked about his family and his roots and how proud he was of them; he idolized Seth and Allison.  I can only hope and pray that Jim and Leslie are resting peacefully with the good Lord above in a much better world.
