Melbourne, FLJanet Ann (Lucas) Sweeney Born May 13, 1944 and raised in Hazardville, CT, Jan went to local grammar schools and graduated from Our Lady of Angels girl’s catholic academy. On September 12, 1964 she married Gene Sweeney. They had a daughter Lynn Ann and lived in CT until 1978 when they moved to Melbourne, FL. Over the years Jan had many hobbies. They included cake decorating, stain glass making and hand painting shirts and miniature doll houses. She loved to help people. After the hurricanes she would volunteer wherever needed. She would write, visit, email many elderly people to make them feel good. Jan was a waitress at the Blueberry Muffin for many years and both retired in 1994 to travel around the USA and other countries. Jan loved to go to yard sales and auctions to get antiques to sell at the longest yard sale near her farm in KY. She loved the friendly folks in KY. Jan leaves behind – Gene, her husband of 45 years, daughter Lynn of Satellite Beach, grandson Michael of Satellite Beach, Herb Lucas of Bedford, NH, sister Barbara Sullivan of MA. She also leaves behind a lot of good friends. We will miss her dearly.
