Jean Drew Frisino, 78-years-old, died on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at her home in Orlando, Florida. Jean was born June 22, 1935, in Berlin, N.H., to Edward Cyr and Bella (Pare) Cyr. After graduating from Farmington High School, N.H., in 1953, Jean came to Florida in 1958 with her husband, Wayne Drew (also of Farmington), where they settled in Boynton Beach, Florida. Her four siblings followed suit, and soon all lived within miles of each other, where they maintained deep family ties. Years later she moved to the Space Coast, which she called home until only recently.
Jean spent memorable years at Rusty Fischer’s “Bernard’s Surf” during the heyday of the Apollo Space Program, followed by several years at the Kennedy Space Center as a documentation analyst with Lockheed Martin. Long before Red Hat groups were popular, Jean enjoyed many luncheons and celebrations with female comrades and close friends Norma Shroble, Jeneane Johnson, and Nel Heffner. She will be missed and remembered as a kind and generous person with a delightful sense of humor.
The family wishes to thank Jean’s many “bridge friends” who played a hand in her attaining her long-sought goal of “Life Master” standing, which she achieved in 2010. Recently, after viewing the film “The Way,” her new heart’s desire was to perform the 500 mile “El Camino” pilgrimage (a centuries-old trek from France across the Spanish Pyrenees). She was thrilled that her son Daryl intends to undertake that journey next year in her memory.
Jean is survived by four loving children: Darcel (Darcy) Drew, of Orlando; Dartland Drew, of Palm Beach Gardens; Daryl Drew, of Inverness; and Daphne Drew, of Merritt Island, as well as grandsons Daemon D. Drew and Dillon C. Drew of Palm Beach Gardens. She is predeceased by her grandson Daemon Wayne Drew.
