Obituary of Jim Mullinnix
James Mullinnix, age 77, of Rockledge, Florida passed away at home on Monday, May 22, 2023. He will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, dad, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all that knew him. Born in Macon County, GA on July 25, 1945, he was the son of the late Barry Raymond Mullinnix and Alieves Roberts Mullinnix and was preceded in death by his stepson, Curtis Lee Mullinnix, sister Betty Phillips, and brothers, Bobby Mullinnix, Carl Mullinnix, and JD Mullinnix. After graduating from high school in 1963, Jim entered the Air Force and served in the Vietnam War which he received several medals for bravery. In 1983, 20 years later, he retired honorably as a Master Sergeant. He then started his civilian career working at Kennedy Space Center/Cape Canaveral A.F.S. with several different contractors in physical security. He retired a second time as Chief of Police assistant, spanning 26 years. Jim continued to do what he does best, cheer on his favorite university football team, the Georgia Bulldogs, and to live life with his lovely wife of 32 years who he absolutely adored. He is survived by his wife Sandra Dean Mullinnix of Rockledge, Fl; Daughter, Tina(Bruce) Stitt of Columbus, GA; Stepdaughter, Deborah(Kurt) Sokolowski of Bloomingdale, GA; Stepson, Ricky(Peggy) Starcher of Parkersburg, WV. Grandchildren, Jerad(Jamie) Mullinnix of Milton, FL; Cody and Connor Stitt of Columbus, GA. A visitation gathering for James will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Life Event Center At Florida Memorial, 5950 S US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM.
