

John “Jack” Featherston passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024 at the age of 91, just shy of his 92nd birthday. He was born in New York City, New York, as the only child of Edward and Eva ( Marlburger ). He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Hartshorn of Southington, Connecticut, his son, John Featherston Jr. and his wife, Anya, of Fort Wayne, Indiana and his daughter, Donna Marie and her husband, Terry, of Boynton Beach, Florida. His extended family includes five grandchildren : Brian and his wife, Lisa, Kaitlin, Kyle, Lucas and Emily, and two great grandchildren, Matthew and Anna.
Jack was a retired New York City policeman, who worked most of his years in Harlem, New York. He was a kind, generous and compassionate man, who had a true love for life and brought a smile to anyone around him with his infectious, fun-loving personality. He was a selfless husband and father, who always put his family first. He lived for his wife Marie, whom he doted on day in and day out until she passed away seven years ago. Together they now watch and care for their family from heaven.
When he wasn’t playing cards or in the yard gardening, he could be found watching Turner Classic movies or Fox News or maybe even attending a Taco Tuesday night with his Barrow Drive buddies.
A visitation for John will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial on 5950 S US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955 followed by a funeral service from 4PM to 5PM. Dinner will follow at 5PM at River Rocks Restaurant on 6485 South US-1 , Rockledge, Florida.
