So, sorry to hear the news... I will always remember him with love in my heart.   


This goes back a few years John;
In Hawaii, we were all trying to get a ride to the beach to surf. You were younger, by two years. My brother, whose name is John also, is your same age.  Anyway, I will always remember when us older guys figured to take everybody, all the kids, you, my brother, neighbors, Scott, Dave, Tony, and who else could fit into two cars with 12 surfboards. I do not remember if the Marsh guys were there but think the Regan's had left. Shabeyland at Barbers point is near airbase airport. It was breaking big and it was a good 30 minute paddle to get to the break,  In those days, no one had those tie cords. So we all paddled hard to get to the line up, Scott and I made it over, though maybe Dave and Tony caught a wave -not sure after these years, but Scott and I kept paddling to beat the set.  The wave set got bigger and closed out- figure at least 8-10 surf.  I remember Scott and I looking over down the break and seeing surfboards in the sky all over. So Scott and I figured it was over and we all collected you John, my brother, plus a couple more.  All the surfboards were on the beach and everyone had to swim.  I think this is something John you will remember as I will for sure. I will miss you John and never forget.

John, you were a wild and crazy guy that was always good for a laugh and some kind of shenanigans when we lived together in Makalapa, Honolulu, HI.  All those fun times surfing together, going to the pool, the outdoor movie theater and just hanging out.  Your side-slipping, pug-nosed surf board was a familiar trade mark.  I am so glad that we were able to get reacquainted in June of 2017 at the Makalapa Brats Reunion.  Rest in peace friend.
