Dr. Viso was a respected physician with a family practice in West Melbourne for nearly 30 years until his retirement in 1999. Known as a brilliant diagnostician who never turned away a patient in need, Viso first came to the Space Coast in 1964 and was among the first 100 doctors at Holmes Regional Medical Center. Born in Santiago, Cuba, he trained at the University of Havana.
He is survived by his loving wife Helena Viso of Melbourne, his children Olga Viso of Minneapolis and Jorge Viso of Tampa, stepsons David Wachtel of Melbourne and Alan Wachtel of Orlando, and sister Hortensia McVey of Oklahoma City.

Due to Holy Thursday's special services at the Ascension Catholic Church in Melbourne there will be no mass of intention for Dr. Viso during the morning hours. Instead, a mass of intention will be held on Thursday, April 17, at 7:00 pm.
