He was born and raised in Merritt Island, Florida by his parents Janet and Terry Tate. From a young age, JJ learned how to fish and dive - which turned into one of his greatest passions. As a young adult, one would often find him loading up his jon boat for a day out on the water fishing for croppie and bass. He enjoyed sharing his passion of being on the water with many members of his immediate and extended family. He was an avid lover of the outdoors and most recently explored all nature had to offer in Montana during the Tate’s annual guys trip. Jonathon was also enthusiastic about music and enjoyed sharing new songs he found interesting. His love for the water and outdoors were only surpassed by the love he had for his family– both immediate and extended - and was the best uncle to his niece Madeline and nephews Terry-James and Ira. Jonathon had a heart of gold and a big smile for everyone he met.
Jonathon was preceded in death by his older brother, Matthew; father, Terry Tate; paternal grandparents, Alma and William Tate; and maternal grandparents, John and Teresa Brokowski. We hope to find solace in that Jonathon has been reunited with his father, brother, and grandparents. He will forever be remembered and cherished by his Mother, Janet Tate; sister Sarah Pace; Brother-in-Law, Michael Pace; Niece, Madeline; Nephews, Terry-James and Ira; and a huge extended family of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins who all loved him deeply.
A visitation gathering for JJ will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM.
JJ will be laid to rest in Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida.
