Cuqui, as his family knew him, was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to Marcial and Rosa Feliciano. In 1975, he moved to Boynton Beach, Florida where he later met his soulmate and wife, Sara Feliciano. Cuqui was an incredibly bright man who graduated from Florida Atlantic University with Honors and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Upon graduating college, he worked for a few companies before finally settling in at State Farm Insurance where he worked for 22 years.
On December 19, 1992 he tied the knot with Sara Herrera and the two became Mr. and Mrs. Feliciano. It was a beautiful celebration that began a joy-filled marriage of almost 20 years. Their love for one another was always beautiful and unbelievably strong. In 1994, the happy couple became first-time parents and welcomed into this world their daughter, Kristina . Two years later, in1996 Jose was once again a proud father when his son Michael was born. January 1999 the happy daddy was blessed with his youngest child Alyssa. Jose was a devoted and loving father. His children were his world and he showed them his love every day.
Jose was always the jokester in the room and could easily make others laugh. He was a wonderful storyteller, which any of his children or nephews can attest to. He created comical characters that he wove into numerous whimsical tales. He was a fantastic dancer that believed the 80's somehow had the best decade of music. He loved listening to the radio and discovering catchy “new” songs, which he would then blast from the computer while he played it on repeat. He loved movies and even knew all the songs from the Disney movies his kids made him watch. His best friend was his DVR, which he used every day to record Fox news and his guilty pleasure: reality TV shows. Jose liked to read the newspaper, Consumer Reports, researching products and topics in his spare time. He loved martial arts and through most of his life learned several styles of martial arts. He liked football and baseball and coached little league for a few years.
Jose is survived by his wife Sara, his children Kristina, Michael and Alyssa, his parents Marcial and Rosa, and his siblings Nithsa, Edgar, Edward, Lily and Carmen. He will also be remembered by his many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
