

Joseph Michael Gabor, III, was the third child of Lee and Joe Gabor born on June 14, 1958, in Dayton, Ohio. When he was young we called him, Joey. He was named after his grandfather and great grandfather, becoming the III Joseph Michael in the family. He was baptized at St. Peter's Catholic Church and attended elementary school there.
The family moved to Merritt Island, Florida in 1972 and Joe attended Edgewood JR High and graduated from the Merritt Island High School.
He had several very good friends who kept him out of trouble, or may have been the other way around. He went to Brevard Community College and worked at Ward's on Cocoa, Florida.
When he went to work at the Kennedy Space Center for the Space Shuttle Program, he found his dream job. He held various positions from 1988 to 2013 and applied himself to each one, wanting to be the best he could be for America's Space Program.
He attended Barry University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He went on to earn a Master's of Science degree majoring in Management and Technology and Industrial Engineering / Business Management.
Joe earned several awards from a USBI monetary award for Process Improvements in 1996 to the United Space Alliance Team Quest Award for Hydraulic Pump and Fuel component Refurbishment in 2013, and several others through the years.
He was a loving and giving person who put family first. Joseph has a sensitive soul and a very good writer and communicator.
Joseph is survived by his sisters, Rebecca Lynn and Tara Marie; cousins, Susan Menendez and Pat (Rosario) Zinnanti; extended family, Barry Murray, Linda (Alan) Moros, brother-in-law Gary Jewell, and beloved nieces and nephews Andrew, Ariel, Allison, Justin, Nicole, Jake, Dawson and Dylan. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Leanne Rose.
A Visitation will be held at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, located at 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida, on October 30, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:30pm with a Graveside Committal Service at 2:30 pm in Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, Florida.
