Juanita Madeline Juhr

Juanita Madeline (Gyte) Juhr, 83, , of Cocoa and a retired Elementary Teach, Church Organist, and Nursery School Director, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She was born in South Dakota on March 24, 1930 to Irene Frances Shiflet and Milton Edward Gyte. She married William Frederic Eric Juhr, Jr. on September 15, 1952 at the age of 22. From 1976-1984, Juanita was an administrator and teacher, as well as Organist and wife of the Rector at St. John’s Nursery School at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ashton, RI. She was a graduate of Providence College with her Master’s Degree in Special Education in 1978. From 1986-1994, she was a teacher at Vacaville Christian Academy in Vacaville, CA.

Juanita is survived by her children, William F. E. Juhr of Slatersville, RI, Mark D. Juhr of Cocoa, FL, Elizabeth A. (Juhr) Berthiaume of N. Providence, RI, and John M. Juhr of Pawtucket, RI; siblings, Donna J. (Gyte) Acton, Joanne B. (Gyte) Poole, and Milton E. Gyte Jr.; grandchildren, Jennifer Anne Juhr, Chrissy Juhr, Melissa Juhr, Samantha Hernandez, Amanda Rose Juhr, Eric Berthiaume, Rebecca (Berthiaume) Varrecchione, Stephen Chasse, Cynthia Masters, Lemuel Tanksley Jr., Ronald Tanksley Sr., Casey Tanksley Sr., and Rhiannon Tanksley; and great-grandchildren, Ariana Berthiaume, Amelia Berthiaume, Emma Varrecchione, Isabella Varrecchione, Alex Hernandez, Nathan Hernandez, Breanna Tanksley, Casey Tanksley Jr., Gabrielle Tanksley, Felicia Tanksley, Ronald Tanksley Jr., Lea Massey, and Lily Massey.

A visitation will be held at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, from 6:00-8:00pm, with a funeral service taking place on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 1:30pm at Glory of God Anglican Church in Cocoa.
