Judy never met a stranger. She would strike up a conversation with anyone and an onlooker would assume they were friends, as they would become, if only in that moment in time. She always had a smile on her face and a Pepsi in her hand. Family was her priority, while she has the "old school" loyalty to her employer's. She was a fighter, never giving up.Through her pain, she continued to persevere and refused to give in and go on disability.Judy was born September 3, 1947 at Fort Hamilton hospital in Hamilton, Ohio to Dorothy L. Maham and Harry Charles Lutkehaus. She was the 2nd of three children they had. All 3 were placed for adoption with different families. Judy was the only child to know her biological parents through her life.Judy's loving parents were Frederick and Nora H. Stieg. She was brought home from the hospital with them and lived her childhood at Campbell Avenue as their only child. Their home was filled with love for one another, an attribute passed down the generations. The Maham side of the family is quite large, therefore, Judy had many cousins to hang out with. They celebrated with family reunions annually and went to one another's homes to visit. The adults would play cards and the kids would dance, tumble or hang out.She was very sociable and always fit in, making acquaintances easily. Being outgoing and easy to get to know, Judy always showed a deep concern for others. She would be one of the first to do anything for you, even if it was to just listen. She loved to know what others were up to and would call regularly to find out! She could talk for hours with a loved one or friend. Giving and receiving love gave her great joy.In 1963, Judy married Wayne "Buddy" Arent. She moved out of her family home and joined him in Biloxi, MS at the Air Force base. Their marriage was short, however, her two children came from the union, Tonia and Charles "Chuck" Arent. In 1969, she met and married the love of her life, Richard "Whitey" White. They were married May 31, 1969. Richard and Judy raised 3 children together, as their own, Jeff White, Tonia & Chuck Arent. Richard is the only father Tonia and Chuck ever knew. He is their Daddy! They moved from Hamilton in July of 1979 and went to Texas, then on to Cocoa, Florida in 1982 where she lived the remainder of her life.Judy was a wonderful Mother. She always had great concern and love for her family. She had her children young, however, was not the "coolest" parent. She was more "old school", meaning strict and laying down the law. Her children never doubted her love for them, an attribute above all others. Since Judy was always understanding of her children's feelings and sensitive to their needs, she was always able to help them find solutions to any problem or situation that popped up, using gentle persuasion when necessary!Throughout her life she worked as a Bar Maid, Nurses Aid, Deli Manager, and Maintenance at Kennedy Space Center in Cocoa, Florida. Her final position was a Service Coordinator at Climatic Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Inc. She was employed there totaling more than 20 years, leaving for about a year to take care of her granddaughters in her home.Judy loved Precious Moments and was very proud of the collection she had. One of her favorite things to do was to go to the Auction in Cocoa. They also enjoyed going to the Diner every weekend. She loved to go spend the day shopping with her daughter and granddaughters. They could be gone 9 or 10 hours, come home with nothing purchased, but had a wonderful time window shopping. There were times, however, when more than needed was bought as well. While the kids were younger, they would go to the "River" camping and boating most every weekend in the summer. They would have a blast roasting marshmallows, cooking breakfast on the Coleman stove, enjoying the company of those around her.Their family vacations in the earlier years would be to Bradenton, FL. One of her most memorable vacations was to visit & tour Graceland. She adored Elvis and cried like she knew him personally when he passed away. She became an avid fan of Reba later in her life and had the opportunity to see her perform in Las Vegas & Orlando. She attended a "meet & greet" and had the opportunity to hug Reba. She was so excited!Judy White passed away on April 9, 2009 at Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge following a heart attack. She was 61 years old.
