

After graduating from Pensacola High School, he attended Florida State University where he met Anna Shuman the beginning of their sophomore year. They were married September 4, 1955 at the beginning of their junior year and finished college together in 1957. Randall received a degree in Geology and started work as a Geologist with the United States Corps of Engineers stationed in Jacksonville. He transferred to the Canaveral District when it opened and did the subsurface surveys for the VAB, crawler-way, etc. When the Canaveral District closed he and Anna remained in Brevard County and became involved in Real Estate. He earned his Broker’s License and together they developed several mobile home subdivisions.
Randall and Anna enjoyed travelling in the United States and abroad. They were life members of the Central Brevard Rock & Gem Club and went to lapidary workshops at Wildacres in North Carolina and William Holland in Georgia. They are members of Faith Lutheran Church on Merritt Island and sang in the church choir for 35 years.
Randall always loved playing Table Tennis. He was a USTTA Certified Coach and was inducted into the Table Tennis Hall of Fame. He started the Space Coast Table Tennis Club to have competition and share his love of the game with others. The club still meets at the Veterans Memorial Center on Merritt Island. He was also an avid fresh water fisherman and spent many hours fishing throughout his life.
He loved his family and leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Anna. Daughters: Beverlyn (Patrick) Patterson of Tampa and Lori (Mark) Giera of Cocoa. Grandchildren: Carol, Brian, Emily, Keith, Anna, Amy and Brandon. Great grandchildren: Tiernan, Liam, Charlotte, Paisley, Madalynn, Sara, Liam,
Mackenzie, Rebecca, Luke, Leo, Titus, Kennedy, Ruby, Porter and Caleb. He was loved and will be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Marilyn Cross and Beverly
Hess and his son, Kipling Randall Hess, the 3rd.
A private family graveside service will be held at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, FL in his honor.
