

Leigh previously served in various ministry roles through the years as Deacon/Elder, Adult Sunday School Teacher and Interim Choir Director at the Guilford Hills Baptist Church in Chambersburg, PA and later at the Church of the Open Door, Greensburg, PA. After moving to FL, he continued to attend church online, in recent years. His faith in Christ was evident in his service to the church and his life-long caring towards his family and friends.
He is well-loved by his wife, Karen and children Mark, Doug, Reid, Laurie and Sandy and their respective spouses and families as well as a large number of grandchildren. Leigh’s impact on his family was immeasurable. Along with his parents Harold and Treva Jackson and his brother Gary Jackson, he was preceded in death by his former spouse, Phyllis R Jackson(Becky) who passed in 1999. Leigh was born in the state of Indiana and will be laid to rest there.
Leigh was an Army veteran, and a career Engineer with several US patents on his exclusive designs with Westinghouse, who retired in Florida. He played expert level tenor saxophone and was a member of various barbershop quartets through the years. Leigh passed along his love of music and often engaged the entire family in perfect harmony and karaoke during opportunities for family gatherings. He also was a true automobile buff, and enjoyed restoring various vehicles immaculately in his younger years.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Sunday, January 28th at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL. The viewing will start at 1:00 pm followed by a funeral at 1:30 pm. Leigh will be laid to rest in N Manchester, IN.
