Mary Louise Cullember of Palm Bay passed away peacefully at Vitas Hospice in Rockledge, Florida at the age of 87. Louise will be remembered by her children, Lori Cullember, Cindi Kelley and Scott Cullember. She was a loving grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother to 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by her loving husband, Donald Cullember, Sr., her son Donald Cullember, Jr. and daughter Becki Cullember and her parents Franklin Casey and Grace Quade Casey.
Louise was born in Annapolis, MD and moved to Palm Bay, Florida in 1988. She was employed at Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne; retired from there and then returned as a part-time employee once again to retire at the age of 82. She worked to save money for her many trips with our dad for his Navy Ship reunions. They traveled to Europe on a work/witness team in the 1980’s. Louise was an avid sewer; she was involved with the Guardian ad Litem program, making over 400 pillowcases for children in need; giving back to her community. She also made pillowcases for Growing Hope Boutique, the church’s charity for community people in need as well.
Louise was very active in her church. She enjoyed her life with her family and friends; often inviting first time visitors home to Sunday dinner. Many times, she would call home and let her daughter know that company was coming, set the table and make sure everything was ready to receive guests. Louise made everyone feel welcome and special with her huge heart and gift of being “the hostess”. Many times, while living in Maryland, she would be the go-to person for church functions and planning church potluck dinners. She truly enjoyed doing this for her church family.
Louise also was very proficient at baking; she was the person who people would call to make birthday cakes for loved ones. She became so good at her craft that she began making wedding cakes for people who heard of her by word of mouth or for friends who were marrying. Everyone always enjoyed her cakes, as they were made with “love”.
Family and friends will be received at The First Church of Nazarene at 2745 S. Babcock Street, Melbourne, FL from 9-9:30 am, Saturday, March 15, 2025. A Celebration of Life will take place at the church from 9:30-10:30. A reception will follow at the church fellowship hall and then the internment will take place at Florida Memorial Gardens at 5950 S. US 1, Rockledge FL. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association or the Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
