Louise J. Reese

A World War II Veteran and Army Nurse, Louise was born January 31, 1923 in Norway. After coming to the United States from Norway in 1927, Louise lived in Brooklyn, NY with her mother and father, attending school and later becoming a Registered Nurse. In 1944, she put her nursing skills to work by joining the Army Nurse Corps as a 2LT and providing much needed medical care to the many American service men and women returning from the war.

Louise married Arthur Reese in 1949, became the wonderful mother of 3 children, and provided a loving home life for her family. Louise and Arthur moved from Alexandria, VA to the Indian River Colony Club in Melbourne 1991 and enjoyed a wonderful retirement life, always giving back to the church and community.

Louise is survived by her 3 children: Barbara Myers of Williamsburg, VA, John Reese of West Palm Beach, FL, and Bill Reese of Springfield, VA; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Interment will be with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
