With heartfelt sadness, we announce the passing of Lucille Higgins at the age of 87 on October 30, 2023, in Brevard County, Florida. Lucille was born on October 10, 1936, in the Bronx, New York, to the late Thomas and Concetta Puglisi. Her genuine kindness, warm spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family defined her existence. She found immense joy in friendly rounds of golf and spirited games of Mah Jong, and her culinary finesse made Sunday meals a treasured tradition for her loved ones.
In 1997, Lucille made Melbourne, Florida, her home after moving from Lake Grove, New York, with her late husband, Tim Higgins. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Higgins, who was adoringly married to Maryann Higgins. Lucille's character was deeply shaped by the values instilled in her by her parents, emphasizing compassion, hard work, and unwavering loyalty to family.
Left to cherish her memory are her brother Richard Puglisi and his wife Tina, along with her three adoring sons and their wives: Gregory and Kim Higgins, Michael and Carol Higgins, and Kevin and Karyn Higgins. Lucille's legacy lives on through her seven beloved grandchildren: Stephanie Higgins (and her husband Erik Kivimaki), Stephen M. Higgins, Kathleen Higgins, Brianna Higgins, Madeleine Higgins, Brandon Higgins, and Kayla Higgins, as well as her great-grandchild, Oliver Kivimaki.
