

Marie Fontenot found eternal peace at the age of 100, on November 9th, 2013. She was born in Ville Platte, Louisiana in 1913. She came to Brevard County in 1959, the wife of Foster, an aerospace worker at Kennedy Space Center and her loving husband for 66 years. Active in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rockledge, she was an avid sewer, knitter, and ‘mom’ to all. In 2009, she moved to Waukesha, WI where she lived until her death.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Murray of Fort Lauderdale and Juliann (Terry) Griffie, of Waukesha, WI; two sisters, Nazel Hebert of Killeen, TX. and Bertha Morein of Ville Platte, LA; four grandchildren, Stephen (Jessica) Murray, and their children Matthew and Mary Margaret of Murfressboro, TN, Carolyn (David) Karian, and their children Alexander and Zachary of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Ann (Ryanne) Griffie of Minneapolis, MN, and Craig (Sarah) Griffie, of Wauwatosa, WI.
She was preceded in death by her husband Foster; her parents, Francois and Camille Reed Soileau; daughter Stephanie; four sisters, Lelma Fuselier, Meldie Vestal, Nettie Rozas, and Amy Tate; and three brothers, Herbert Soileau, Ferrier Soileau, and Francis Soileau.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rockledge at 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Interment will take place at Florida Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Catholic School, Rockledge, FL or the charity of your choice.
