Marilyn Virginia Barnini, age 90, went to her heavenly home peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2026 at her home in Rockledge, Florida, surrounded by her adoring husband and children. She was born September 27, 1935 and grew up in Williamstown, MA.
In high school is where she met the love of her life, Bob Barnini; she was 15 and he was 16. They dated for five years and married on September 8, 1956. They would have celebrated their 70th anniversary this September 2026. After high school, Marilyn attended Henry W. Bishop Memorial School of Nursing in Pittsfield, MA and became a Registered Nurse. She absolutely loved her career.
In her first and third years of school, she was voted the “Outstanding Student Nurse.” Marilyn and Bob moved to Florida in 1961, first Jacksonville, and then Merritt Island. She worked at Wuesthoff Hospital, Dr. Thomas Philpot's practice, and Pediatrics of Brevard. She retired in 2000 and, thereafter, enjoyed traveling with her husband.
She was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church and active in The Spade & Trowel Garden Club of Rockledge. She had a love for music, singing in weddings and choirs, and was also active in local theater.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband and partner of 75 years, Bob; her four children, Linda Williams (John), Tony Barnini (Angie), Jeff Barnini, and Lisa Johnston (Larry); four grandchildren, Christina Williams, Heather Williams, Nick Barnini (Nadia), and Paige Munch (Pete); and four great-grandchildren, Callie, Cora, Mackenzie, and Hayden. Marilyn is predeceased by her parents, Lucius and Bertha Burr; her sister and brother-in-law, Adelyn and John Davidson; and her brother and sister-in-law, Winton and Gina Burr.
Marilyn lived such a rich and fulfilled life, with many friends who adored her. She loved her husband so deeply and was proud of all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
