My great grandmother was the most kind hearted lady you will ever met. She would never fail to put a smile on my face, or anyone’s face. One of my favorite memories was when I was in charge of getting grandma and grandpa out of their house for their anniversary surprise that the whole family planned, she would talk about that day and my “wonderful” acting skills almost every time I saw her.  I miss you and love you lots grandma!! 



My great gramma was one of the sweetest, kindest, most pure souls I knew; she could talk to me for hours on end about all of my schooling and the activities that went along with the certain years. From chorus concerts in elementary and middle school, to band concerts in middle school, to marching band performances in high school and finally to my college pre-medical track and the UCF knights football team’s record that year. She was always wanting to hear about what I was doing and where I was heading next. She never failed to comment on my achievements over Facebook and remind me endlessly to “SMILE”. I hope I can continue to make her proud and carry out all of the plans I once discussed with her. I will miss her more than I can put into word, but know she is living it up on her farm in the sky. I love you LOTS, gramma.

Hello to the Angel I call Mom.    

I have a ton of great memories of my grandma main, but there are a few main things that influence me to this day. She was a huge Florida Gators fan, and that has definitely stuck with me  being a big Florida Gators fan as well, I remember as a kid visiting and first thing stepping in the door on a rug that played the Gators fight song, along with a table full of pictures of her grandkids and kids and all her family, family was definitely important to her. And she made sure that everyone knew about football, she is probably the single reason I got into and played football as a kid and am into it as much as I am still today. I also remember as a kid her making sure that I had every Disney movie that was available, weather she gave it to me in person or sent it to me in the mail she got it for me, I know her favorite was always the land before time movies. I remember all the times she and grandpa would drive and visit us through my childhood and a trip to New York she took me and my family on when i was younger to and her scratching my back as a kid before i went to bed, and the blow up gator Albert she always had at her pool, and our only choice to drink as a kid was white milk or water, I could really go on and on, i do know I will miss my grandma very much and it honestly will never be the same without her advice or seeing her comments but I will do my best to “SMILE” as she always use to say, until we meet again grandma I love you very much and you will be missed.

My grandmother was one of a kind. In a world where kindness and human decency often take a back seat she stayed true to her beliefs that we should treat others as we would want to be treated.  She taught us the simplest life’s lessons and modeled them everyday.  The art of cursive writing, proper phone etiquette, drinking “moo juice”, and elbows off the table were just a few staples of my childhood.   I have fond memories of her farm stories and being able to see her in her element when we would visit the farm together.  She was unconditionally proud of her family and was always our biggest fan. I hope I am able to exemplify her super power of being a strong figure in the lives of my children as she did for her children. I love you and miss you. Please continue to watch over us as you rest peacefully in heaven.


I remember being no more than 5 or 6 years old, and waking up early to make the drive from our house then in Melbourne, FL to see my grandparents. and I will never forget how excited I would feel to see her, and I will never forget swimming in the pool with “Alfred the Alligator” she named the blow up pool toy, being such the gator fan she was. Those are memories I will cherish forever, I will miss her tremendously.

I just wanted to say that Marilyn Main was sent a friendly person treated you well I had known her for a long time to all family members she will be a great loss to everyone  I pray that God makes it easier for you to remember her

I have so many special memories of my Mom. Remember her teaching me to drive and me getting upset of cars passing me up cause I wanted to be first in line and she told me I would not be diving till I realize it is a reality that cars are going to pass you.

Remember her trying to teach me grammar that I just couldn’t grasp “Smile”. I am sure I gave her many gray hairs doing that.

Remember how going to a grocery store or clothing store that all was no stranger to her and she could strike up a conversation with all.

Remember my Mom telling me about all her horses she had on the farm growing up and how much she loved them. When she lived in RiverView Florida the house was next to someone’s land that had a Bhrama Bull and she loved seeing it everyday and would talk to it.

Most important memory of my Mom is that she was always there for me anytime and always said keep a “Smile” on your face. I will miss her tremendously.

I have so many great memories of Aunt Marilyn beginning when I was about 4 or 5 visiting them in Niagara Falls. I’m sure there were so many good things to remember about this visit, whether I was too young to remember the good times, all I can remember is dropping a casserole dish on my big toe and it turning completely black and then falling off!
Another memory I had when they lived in Niagara Falls just before they were shipping off to Kansas was Uncle Fran coming home without their station wagon, but instead with a bright orange Super Bee! Not sure how they managed getting 4 kids 2,000 miles in that car, but I don’t recall seeing that car again.
Back in 1980 I made plans to drive to Florida with my then girlfriend Kelly for a vacation. We got to Satellite Beach and they met at an ice cream shop and we followed them home. After driving 24 hours, it was so good to see Aunt Marilyn, Uncle Fran, Tim and Michelle, that I hadn’t even thought about sleeping, but when it was time, she told us there was a spare bed made up for us. Well, the last thing I ever thought my aunt would say is “sure it’s okay” for two young, unmarried kids to sleep in the same bed...I don’t think my mother would have allowed that back then!
Many memories of visits when they would return to New York to the old farm! Even though these visits weren’t very long, somehow Mr. Jordon would always inherit a few extra “farmhands”. Up early was way too early for teenagers and if we didn’t jump to it, Mr. Jordon would let Dolly loose and she’d get us up in a hurry with doggie kisses!
It has only recently sunk in that we would no longer receive Aunt Marilyn’s awesome Facebook comments and posts about the Bills and Gators games!
I wish we could have made the trip to be there with Uncle Fran and the kids...it’s another reason why this pandemic has been so disruptive to our lives.
I love you Aunt Marilyn and will miss you very much!

I wish I could remember my sister playing the tenor sax, her horse "Rusty," or singing a duet of "Wundebar" our mother always wished she had a recording of.  I wish I had an escape like she did when she found out Mom was fixing liver for dinner.  She would check what either Aunt Ann or Grandma & Grampa were having then simply invite herself for a liver-free meal.  I wish I had seen my sister drive red "Bessie" down the German Autobahn with a load full of kids heading for a game.  What I do remember: Marilyn giving me my own gun and holster set for Christmas so I could ride the range on my spring horse.  Marilyn and Frank taking me to Roseland Amusement Park.  I remember having little nieces and nephews to play with, attempting to order them around, or knock around (Mark). I remember Marilyn expertly planning and carrying out our parents' 25th surprise wedding anniversary, and it truly was a surprise - the house was full of people!  I remember fun trips to Fantasy Island, Niagara Falls, Kansas and Florida.  I remember the glee on my parents' faces after they returned from visiting Disney World with Marilyn and family.  There are memories of shopping trips to Ames, debates on which way to insert the toilet paper on the roll, lessons on how to hang laundry properly, sitting under the shade tree while she and Dad discussed politics, singing "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall" during  our annual tractor and wagon ride.  Who could forget the ringy-dings when the Bills were playing?  I remember almost being run down in my home by a panicked twosome looking for my TV so they could watch the Gators play the Seminoles.  But mostly, I remember the love of an exceptionally generous and caring sister whose top priority was taking care of her family.   Will miss you, grammamooo!

To the entire  Main Family you all have my prayers and thoughts and hope that you guys find comfort in knowing that she not hear any longer suffering.. As a first Cousin to Marilyn Mae Jordan Main, I can remember so many things about her. She loved horses , and let me ride with her on her horse Rusty. I was 7 or 8 yrs, old. Dream come true for me. She was very kind, & giving person all her life.Played the piano, very well . Growing up on a farm there was always fun things going on. So many stories that were made on the farm. I will cherish them all. We got together in our later years in N.Y. & Florida. She loved her family, cheered for the Gators, Tampa Bay teams, and enjoyed doing good things for friends & family. Her letters in beautiful handwriting will be missed. Rest in Peace Dear Cousin--Love Cheryl, Herb & Family

Dear Ones, Frank Main and your entire Main Family,
For so many years two families shared Big Mark and Our daughter Dawnie in marriage.  We shared cards and great memorable times together.  Marilyn and Frank were a wonderful couple, they were kind and generous, they were hard working, moral and ethical, we had a lovely friendship, mostly I will miss her easy smile.  She wrote and sent the most beautiful thoughtful cards, heartfelt and lovely sentiments.  Her penmanship was absolutely a "picture", I knew exactly who sent cards as soon as I saw her gorgeous handwriting!  Simply said, the sunshine in our world is changed  as we loose  this beautiful gentle soul,  I will continue to pray for this loving family, but I have always appreciated being included inside their "togetherness".
