Mark and his family are daily in my prayers with the recent death of my brother Joe we share your sense of loss even while celebrating that they are with the Lord.

I was one of Mark's classmates from Lansdale Catholic Class of '75.  He was a special guy even in high school.  He was respected by, and respected everyone.  Never heard anyone say a bad word about him.  His nickname to everyone was Alf, my nickname from him was Curtis McClure.

He had a party every summer in college after we graduated LC.  After college we lost track of him.  Until Fred W.  brought him as the Mystery Guest to a Phillies game get together in 2015 or 2016.  A great surprise.  I had  a number of interactions in person and by phone with him after.  Reconnecting was a highlight. Will miss him.  

I was blessed to enjoy time with Mark & Sherry since they move local to me here in Florida.  Like most of our LCHS75 friends, we lost touch with Mark for about 40 years until he connected with Fred Wagner as a surprise attendee to our 40th class reunion. I got to see our surprise attendee a day earlier as we played golf the bad before. As everyone knows Mark’s great personality, we picked right up were we left off after graduation. 
Soon after, Mark visited a number of times as it was his (& Sherry’s) retirement dream to retire here in Florida near me in the Space Coast Beach area. After a few visits, they made their move here. Bought their dream retirement house. Mark was always sharp and home ownership details regarding everything from HVAC systems to Pool maintenance were equally simple. We were blessed to share 14 or so months as 7 minute neighbors. No matter the conversation, Mark was well versed on the subject. He even liked showing me drum solos on YouTube of some of the best in the business. Both being Civil Engineers by degree, gave us even more commonality but we were far from engineering chat most of the time. Always happy… always smiling.  And now with incredible joy, he is living his new life in Christ as he is told, well done my good and faithful servant. Mark blessed everyone he met with joy and a helpful comment or act of kindness. This is our calling and life’s purpose. See you one day as we all will Mark. Save a place at the table brother. We will miss you until then! Bob Moyer

I moved to Lansdale in the middle of my 8th grade year and became quick friends with I Mark through basketball and baseball.  We remained good friends through high school and spent senior week in Florida.  Life took us in different directions and we lost track of each other.  Then, after 40 years, we re-connected and our friendship didn’t miss a beat.  That’s the way Mark was - a great smile, a contagious laugh, and a kind spirit.  I am fortunate I got to spend the last few years growing that friendship.  I will miss him dearly.  Rest in peace, my friend. - Fred Wagner

I met Mark nearly 40 years ago, we were students at Loyola-Marymount University in their evening Master's Degree program.  Mark approached Matt Smith and I asking if we commuted (to West Los Angeles) from Ventura County and wondered if we wanted to carpool.  Over the years I have known Mark, he was always the same - it was he that would initiate, ask me to lunch or remind me we hadn't talked for while.  We worked together in Simi Valley just briefly before he was hired as General Manager of VRSD, a former employer of mine (when we were students).  Mark was a great friend, an intelligent and witty guy, and his laugh was contagious.  I miss him greatly, and feel the world is a smaller place without Mark in it.  


Mark was a good friend for many years.  I was Chair of the Ventura Regional Sanitation District Board when we hired him, and he proved to be a good, solid, common sense man who managed the District well.  We remained friends, and I was shocked by the news of his passing.  My condolences go out to his wife and children.

So sorry to hear of Mark's passing he was a very witty charismatic person who always went the mile to make things right.
I was actually shocked.  He will be missed by many.

Mark lived on Columbia Avenue in Lansdale, just around the corner from my house on York Avenue.  The Lawler house had a good size back yard and we had fun times with siblings and neighbors during our youth.  
Let's all remember the best times we had as members of the Class of 75 ... It was a great group, and it's a sad day when we lose any of them.  Love and prayers for Mark's family and friends and for all members of the Class of 75.

I had the pleasure to work with Mark while he was general manager at VRSD in Ventura. Through the years he kept in contact sharing with me what new ventures he was pursuing. He was a generous , thoughtful person. It was a pleasure to know him. My condolences to his family at his passing.

Mark was my Father-in-Law for 13 years. He continued to be a Grandfather to my children over the years. My kids, Lucas and Noah, were saddened to hear of Mark's passing. I was too. He was such a nice man. Always. He will be missed.

The Brandt Family would like to extend our heart felt condolences to Sherry, Natalie and Michael and share memories of Mark. We met Mark, Mayra, Michael and Natalie when they lived up the street from us on La Quinta Dr., in Windsor , Ca., in 1996. Our kids played together and we shared time at each others' house.  When Mark moved to Moorpark, it was a sad day to see him and his young family move away.  Through the years we stayed in touch and would visit each other as time allowed.  Mark was a very gregarious,  friendly and always genuinely concerned about how Erin was feeling and doing as Mayra and  Erin had similar health issues. He had a huge heart, always giving and never expecting anything in return.  We spent vacations visiting him and staying at his vacation home in Twin Peaks, Ca. He always had a warm smile, witty and charming charisma that made you feel welcome. People like Mark are far and few between and he will always be missed for having made a positive influence on those he touched.  God bless you until we meet again, Erin, Lawrence,   Justin/Sarah, Jennifer/Damian and Jiana/Jesse....the Brandt's.

Mark was an amazing father. He always made my visits to see Natalie so fun. When Natalie moved at a young age to Moorpark, Mark still made the effort to stay in contact with our family. Growing up I would visit over summer breaks and Mark would enroll us in summer camp, we would go to theme parks, the beach, the movie theater, and even took a trip through Zion National Park. I recall my first trip without my parents and how hard it was to leave Natalie, Mark offered to fly up and visit. Mark always made sure we had fun packed summers. He had a huge heart. I send all my love to you Natalie, and Michael, and everyone in the family coping with his loss. You are not alone. Rest in peace, Mark. You will be missed. 

Mark was a most incredible man who lived life to the fullest. Admired for the love of family and loyalty to friends and neighbors. Always a  considerate and respectful gentleman with a boundless smile and never ending hug. Mark’s love for my dear friend Sherry filled my heart and  seeded my love for him, which has only grown stronger throughout the years. I will miss you Mark and will watch over Sherry for you. Mark and I met in our neighborhood about 18 months ago.  Mark always had a smile on his face and always a kind word to say. Mark made me feel like I had a friend in the neighborhood, and a comfortable friendly face. At every event he would always ask me to join his table, it was a fun table with lots of laughter and never a sour word.  Mark was a very smart, gentle, kind, gentleman, with a great heart, & a really good person. I will miss him daily.  Thanks Mark for being you.

I met Mark as a ten year old little leaguer….immediately realized he was a great baseball player with an engaging personality. What I did not know was these two traits were just the tip of the iceberg. As the years went on, it became obvious how intelligent, athletic, adventurous and successful Mark was. But what I admired most about Mark was his kindness and humility. You will be missed. Rest In Peace, Mark

To the Lawler family, I would like to express my condolences on the loss of Mark. I am a good friend of James and knowing him I'm sure Mark was a very special guy. I am sorry I cannot attend his celebration of life, but I will keep him in my prayers.

Mark, his brother Jim, and I had the opportunity to spend ten days in the Philippines on a Scuba Diving trip. It was my first trip there, and my first time traveling with Mark, and it will be kept as one of my favorite memories. Mark was always so easy to talk with, a master of conversation who would put you at ease and always had a story to tell or an insightful question to ask. And paired up with his brother, I was never at a loss for something to talk about. 

Of course, we were there for the diving, and boy did we. Thirty-two dives scheduled for the trip. Mark and I took a couple off, but Jim got them all in. Our dives together were so fun - both were great divers, and the things we saw were just incredible. The most exciting dive of the trip, however, was one that has no pictures. We dropped into a current that was just incredible, and went flying along the reef, dropping into protected spots, and at one time hanging on to an ancient Spanish anchor (how fortunate they left it behind for us) to regroup before we were swept along again. I'm pretty sure a lot of the bubbles we were producing were from the laughter under the water. We ended up probably a half mile offshore and couldn't stop laughing when we got to the surface, waiting for our boat to pick us up. It will remain in my memory as one of my favorite diving experiences, and not just for the dive itself, but for the company I had with me.


Mark and I became friends at Lansdale Catholic High School. Mark always made an effort to stay in touch. He loved his family and worked hard to be successful in all phases of life. He had a wonderful way of laughing - despite many challenges he faced medically, he was always upbeat as the attached photo displays. I am shocked to lose such a special friend. He died too young. I will treasure my memories of Mark. My thoughts and prayers are with Sherry and Mark’s family and friends.

Mark was a best friend. Smarter than most yet open minded and chronically curious. An amazing Father navigating incredible trials and tribulations, always dedicated to Michael & Natalie. Just as dedicated to his brothers and sister and their well being. 
A ball room dancer, skilled diver, grill master, great baseball player and fan, pragmatic yet the most adventurous soul I ever knew. The only pilot I would ever consider to adventure with and did we ever!  
I’ll miss the golf, beach trips, backyard bbq’s, travel, weekly, long phone conversations, his goofiness and generosity. He loved Sherry beyond measure and I loved him as a best friend for more than 50 years and will miss him daily and forever. 

Two of Mark’s favorite words - “Let’s go”!

As cousins we grew up seeing each other frequently at Grand mom and Grand pops house, parties and such. Sharing word of growing families as we all grew and spread across the land. Praying as the needs arose. My prayers now are for the consolation of Mark's family and friends. I trust your peace will come in time. Mark made us all proud.
