First born, I'm blessed to have Mom's name sake,“Mary” at my birth.
     No one could ask for one more loving Mother on this Earth
Mom and Dad's held family, most important you can see.
     Taught all of us to treat one as we'd want ourselves to be. 

Her life has been her grandchildren, more than my words can say.
     Their visits filled with love and laughter, morning, night and day.
On many trips to Ireland, the Sister clan would bond
     The memories all of them would share, went on and on, and on!

Stories of when growing up,  they'd laugh and reminisce..
      These are times we'll all remember;  Times we'll really miss!
There's one time I'll remember, we had laughed until we cried!
      Saint Anthony, Saint Joseph, favorite Saints whom she relied.

Was Nineteen Ninety Nine and all our families joined in fun.
      Brandon's first birth party, at the Castle we had come.
We all had planned an outing, Off to Knox to spend the day.
      Mom brought up a story; ‘bout St. Joseph, on the way.

She knew our house in Boca was for sale the months before,
     Said “Bury our St. Joseph upside down by the front door.”
“He'll bring you luck; you'll sell your house much quicker ‘cause he cares.
Mom was right….. then I remembered --- I'D FORGOT HIM THERE!

Aunt Bridie asked if I had placed St. Joseph on our Mantel.
     I turned red, said I'd forgot, but when home I would handle.
Gary thought us crazy, through he finally had agreed.
     And now he knew when we got home, he'd dig him up for me.

I had to call the owner whom we'd sold the house before,
     He told us “Come on over, you can did by my front door.”
So on our way I prayed to Mom's St. Anthony to find.
     The spot we'd put St. Joseph, so we wouldn't loose our mind.

Mom's favorite Saint, St. Anthony, had answered all my prayer.
     Gary was relieved when he dug down and saw him there.
I'll bet she'd lit her candle in her favorite spot that day.
     So we could take St. Joseph home; Our mantel's where he'll stay.

Thinking of you all at this very sad time. Aunt Mary will be greatly missed. Sorry we could not be there with you all, you are in our prayers.

A True Irish Love Story as told to Nicole, Brittany, Ryan and Brandon by their Nana and family.
     So many stories, so many memories, so much love!

I'm one of ten dear siblings; Betty,  Micky and Kathleen,
   Tommy, Bridie, Ben and Pa; Margaret, John and me.
The Blessed Mother Mary's name; Was chosen at my birth.
   God ‘s given extra blessings; all through my time on Earth.

I took a chance in fifty eight; fulfilled my childhood dream.
   Flew to New York from Ireland; Was only seventeen.
Met a dear friend, Maragaret; she'd found a job for me.
   We laughed and danced the Irish Jig,  As chefs in Westberry.

Time flew by & soon I found friends Wedding Bells would ring.
   Little did I know back then they'd also Ring for me.
You see, another Irishman, true gentleman at heart.
   Had taken ship to New York, too; about six months apart.

My new friend Mary Dearing; fixed a blind date up for me.  
   Saint Patrick's night; a New York Irish Pub was where we'd meet.
We danced and fell in love that night…..I knew he was “The One”
   So blessed, we said our vows September; . . Nineteen sixty one.

The next year, our sweet Bridget born to fill our arms with joy!
   Then darling Sheila, sixty four,  and sixty  five our Boy.
Patrick was the Irish Prince; the girls; cute as could be.
   Teddy was the proud Pa Pa; They ran the socks off me!

I started bringing family here; one by one they came.
   Tommy first then Bridie; and for Betty, did the same.
Margaret joined and all rejoiced, a real tight family bond!
   Through years we've traveled USA and Ireland, beyond.

We loved to share our stories, and to sing our Irish songs;
   We laughed and danced the Irish Jig, & all would join along.
We packed our things in 68; and moved to Delaware.
  To work at Wilmington college, charged with buildings, grounds and care.

In seventy two we packed again, and left our friends in tears. 
   To Marymount University, for thirty five long years. 
In charge of Buildings and the Grounds, we saved our hard earned pay;
   Bought Ireland's Darver Castle, We'll not forget that day. 

In nineteen ninty six, Nicole, my first grandchild  was born;
  My name sake, blue eyed baby girl; how Ted & I adored!
The very year sweet Brittany, Irish eyes that twinkled bright;
  My world then overflowed with love; from morning through the night.

Three years later I became a Nana twice with boys;
Ryan and our Brandon; How can one feel so much joy!
I've been there as each one was born; through all the Holidays!
How all of you have filled our lives; can't find the words to say.

The year two thousand two, We finally said we would retire.
   Spending time with family here & Ireland, our desire.
It seems was barely just a year, bad health took over me,
   No matter how hard we have tried, it wasn't meant to be. 

My Dear sweet children, love of life, know how I'll miss you so.
   And miss my darling Brandon, Ryan, Britany  and Nicole.
Teddy, words can never say, How I've loved you all these years.
   With you, my world's been wonderful,  so these are happy tears.

At peace, I start my journey now;  with Angels up above,
    At Heaven's gate, my Mom and Dad will shower me with love.
I'll look beyond, see Tom and Micky, smiles upon their face
   I'll be your Guardian Angel . . . . . .  in Ever Lasting Grace.
