

Born in Sumenep Java, Indonesia to parents, Napoleon Willem and Eugenie Bastiaans. Max proudly served for the Dutch Air Force before moving to the United States.
He lived in Indiana, Michigan, and Naples, FL prior to moving to Brevard County in October of 2020. He spent his professional career as a mechanical engineer for General Electric.
Max had a passion for Tennis and Soccer. He co-founded The Holland Sport Club in Holland, MI and was always keeping up with his favorite soccer teams and tennis championships.
A devout Christian, Max was a member of The Chapel Church in Indiana, First Presbyterian in Naples, FL, and recently Eastminster Presbyterian in Indialantic, FL.
He had a strong commitment to his family and friends and found great joy in the time he spent with his grandchildren. He enjoyed cooking and was skilled at re-creating the unique flavors of the Indonesian recipes he grew up with.
Max loved relaxing with his beloved wife, Johanna, and watching the beautiful Florida sunsets from their back porch. He truly lived life to the fullest and will be forever remembered for his kindness and compassion.
He is survived by his wife, Johanna F. Winia; daughter, Yvette L. Winia (Tom Johnson); daughter in law, Heather Winia; Grandchildren, Paige L. Eding, Jaelyn Winia, Hailey J. Sheridan, Danae Winia, Ty M. Sheridan, and Sage Winia; and Great Grandchild, Ezra Grace Eding.
He is predeceased by his beloved son, Mark F. Winia, with whom he is reunited in Heaven.
A celebration of life for Max will be held Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 106 North Riverside Drive, Indialantic, FL 32903.
