Milton G. Winter

Milton George Winter passed away on April 8, 2018 at the age of 89. He was born on December 27, 1928 and was the only child of Anna Mae (Himmelman) and George Winter. He lived in Boonton, New Jersey until his retirement to Melbourne, Florida in 1986. For 26 years he owned and operated Winter Associates, an electric component sales firm. Prior to that he was a purchasing agent at Aircraft Radio Corporation. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with a Bronze Palm and Order of the Arrow. After graduation from Boonton High School in 1946, he served in the U. S. Navy, FC3, on the heavy cruiser the USS Macon, CA 132. As a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a B.S. degree, he was a member of the Phi Zeta Kappa and Phi Omega Epsilon honor societies. He was active in community affairs serving on the Board of Education, the Planning Board and the Board of Adjustment in Boonton Township, New Jersey. He was President of Mount Tabor country Club in Denville, New Jersey. He also served as Treasurer and was on the Vestry of St. John’s church in Boonton. He was Vice President of the founding Board of Directors of Suntree Country Club after it was purchased from Fairfield Corporation in 1991 and also served as Treasurer. He was also Chairman of the Suntree Executive Council. He amassed over 3600 hours as a volunteer at Holmes Regional Medical Center. An avid golfer, he was a three time club champion at Mount Tabor Country Club and in 1991, Men’s Senior Club Champion at Suntree Country Club. He leaves Janice (Ebbrecht), his wife of 68 years, sons Glen and wife Margaret (Connelly), William and his wife Joanne (Jannarone), David and Maria (Duffy), and daughter, Marilyn Gelb and husband Mark. Grandchildren Christopher Winter and wife Karen Mae (Webb), Adam Winter and wife Lisa (Baker), Austin Winter and wife Lauren (Onorato), Chase Winter, Connor Winter, Nicole (Gelb) Mullen and husband Joseph and Evan Gelb and Nicole (Warren). Great grandchildren Piper Winter, Phoenix Winter, Fiona Winter, Arthur Winter, Hannah Mullen and Livia Mullen. He always said that he has lived a good life; has seen a lot, done a lot and accomplished a lot; and he loved his wife and his family with all his heart! May he rest in peace. Services will be held at 11:30 am Friday April 20th at Florida Memorial Gardens Life Event Center 5950 S. US Hwy 1, Rockledge, FL 32955 reception to follow at 1 pm at Suntree Country Club 1 Country Club Drive, Melbourne, FL 32940.
